Abisko, close to the lake Torneträsk, is situated along the railway between Kiruna and Narvik about 100 km west Kiruna. It is a popular start or ending point for hikers on Kungsleden, the King´s Trail. Abisko tourist station is also a popular place for photographers especially in mid September, when the autumn colours give an extra flavour to the landscape. The river Abiskojåkka with its canyon is an encouraging area to seek for the smaller landscapes.
